It was such an honor and pleasure to connect recently, online, with a group of participants for a full moon ceremony on the sacred Island of Delos in Greece.

The island is the second most important spiritual site of Greece after the archaeological site of Delphi, located 3 hours away from Athens.

Located just 2 km away from the island of Mykonos in the Cyclades, it is directly connected to the mystery schools of Athens and Delphi and is also widely recognised as the birthplace of Apollo.

In this podcast episode I share the audio recording of this ceremony, which includes the following:

·        An overview of the history of Delos

·        A review of the concept of the mystery schools of ancient civilisations

·        Its nature as one of the great sacred sites of the world

·        Its relationship to other sacred sites

·        The link to the powerful Lion’s gate portal

·        A guided practice channeling the energy of this important site.

The recording was made live on site with participants online. The connection was interrupted at times, so apologies if some information was lost.

About Delos

The island was first excavated by a team of French archaeologists from 1873 CE, revealing the true extent of the religious site. The island once had temples dedicated to Apollo and Artemis and several other sacred buildings have also been identified, but their exact purpose is unclear.

An investigation of ancient stone huts found on the island indicates that it has been inhabited since the 3rd millennium BC.

Between 900 BCE and 100 CE, sacred Delos was a major cult center, a religious pilgrimage, famous as the birthplace of the twin gods Apollo and Artemis.

The national divinity of the Greeks, Apollo has been variously recognized as a god of archery, music and dance, truth and prophecy, healing and diseases, the sun and light, poetry, and more. Apollo is the son of Zeus and Leto and has a twin sister, the chaste huntress Artemis.

Artemis was the Goddess of hunting and wild animals.

Several "purifications" were performed to render the island fit for the proper worship of the gods. Under instruction from the Delphic Oracle, the entire island was purged of all dead bodies. It was then ordered that no one should be allowed to either die or give birth on the island due to its sacred importance and to preserve its neutrality in commerce since no one could then claim ownership through inheritance. Four years later, all inhabitants of the island were removed to an island in Turkey.

Since 1872 the École française d'Athènes ("French School of Athens") has been excavating the island, the complex of buildings of which compares with those of Delphi and Olympia. In 1990, UNESCO inscribed Delos on the World Heritage List, citing it as the "exceptionally rich" archaeological site which "conveys the image of a great cosmopolitan Mediterranean port".

According to the philosopher Iamblichus, there would have been a Delos Mystery school.

A review of the concept of the mystery schools of ancient civilisations

A network of mystery schools existed across history which supported the greatest, and most influential civilisations, in shifting the course of mankind.

They were a gathering of teachers, shamans, students, and initiates which aimed to shared wisdom on how a man could connect to the cosmic field and gain its ability to experience his/her highest potential on earth, as a result.

They would have been created as a way to restore order after the collapse of our civilisations under the power of a great flood approximately 9700 BC.

The access to the knowledge of the mystery schools still stays alive today.

Delos as a sacred site.

In Greek mythology, Delphi is recognised as the country's most important sacred site, the seat of Apollo's most important sanctuary which served as the site of one of the world's most important mystery schools which instructed people like Confucius and Pythagoras.

Jean Richer, a professor of literature, traveled to Delphi in the 1950s and studied the connection between Delphi, site of Apollo's main sanctuary and oracle, Delos, the god's birthplace, and Athens.

On a map, he drew straight lines connecting the three sites revealing a spatial relationship among them.

Over several years Richer continued researching alignments by drawing lines on the map which formed geometric figures of which obviously represented the cosmic order.

According to him, it quickly became clear that the Greeks, like the ancient Mesopotamians and the Egyptians, had wanted to make their country a living image of the heavens.

It appeared Greece had been divided into twelve sectors corresponding to signs of the zodiac and Delphi was the center.

Examining art and artifacts from cities and temples in the pie-shaped sectors, Richer found that, far from containing arbitrary decorations, the images predominantly related to the seasons, solstices, cardinal points, and zodiacal signs corresponding to their particular sector of the Delphic "zodiac."

Further investigation revealed a second zodiacal wheel centered on Delos, which furnished the Aegean islands with sacred celestial directions and correspondences.

Maurice Chatelain, a former employee of NASA, claimed that within a 725 km radius of Delos 13 mystical sites formed a perfect Maltese Cross when connected by straight lines.

The maltese cross was a popular symbol of the knights' templar which represented the honourable fight which allowed our being access to the heavens.

A link to the powerful Lion’s gate portal

An important feature of the site of Delos is a set of twelve squatting, snarling "guardian lions" were placed along the Sacred Way, reminiscent of the Avenue of Sphinxes in Egypt.

In Egypt, the pharaoh sometimes sat on a "lion throne", having images of lions sculpted into the throne. The Egyptian god Aker, who guarded the gates to the netherworld through which the sun entered the underworld at sunset and again emerged at dawn, was depicted in the form of two lions sitting back to back, supporting the horizon containing the sun-disk. Twin lion statues representing Aker were placed at the doors of palaces and tombs to protect against evil spirits.

Interestingly, the lion's gate is held on August 8th, exactly one week before this full moon ceremony was recorded.

The lion's gate portal is a cosmic alignment which allows access to a field of high-frequency energy which helps dissolve ancient, stubborn, patterns which may be holding us back.

It works at an individual level as well as at a global scale.

As well as keeping the Gateway to the divine realm, the sacred lions aim to help us step out limitations and into our highest expanded self. They want us to remember and integrate our cosmic beingness and our infinite nature.

A high-level, group mentoring programme for those interested in developing transformative energetic capabilities similar to those of shamans.

Hosting a maximum of 5 students, it has two complimentary aims:
First: to serve as a personal development course allowing to expand on a path of self-actualisation and realisation.
Second: as a professional training to develop skills as an energy practitioner or to add high-level multi-dimensional energy work to an existing practice.
