Introduction
Building energetic sensitivity 

By now, you have probably experienced 3 lessons on the topic of spatial energy work, a.k.a space clearing. It’s a great time to take a moment to assess how you feel about all of it. I think it's important to re-iterate a couple of essential points about this work.

Building energetic capability

The first important point is that while vast amounts of transformation and healing are possible by a human being on a physical space, the level at which this can be achieved is dependent on a person's individual energetic capabilities (abilities for transformation). There are no shortcuts. For you to impact others and to impact your space, a deep level of work on yourself needs to be done. You may already have your own practice which resonates, in which case great to keep it up and perhaps do even more of it. If you feel like you would like to weave something new to your practice, it's always nice to keep an eye out for new things which may be recommended by friends. 
There will be a lesson in the full course which talks about how to build a daily practice so you can get more information on that later.

Building energetic sensitivity

The second important point is that to become more energetically potent, i.e., more energetically capable, we need to build up our energetic sensitivity. That means being more aware of patterns of frequency waves which compose the world around us.  This may sound abstract and confusing, but the first step is to intend to move beyond the physical world, which can be perceived with our traditional senses, beginning to become aware of invisible forces.  There are many ways of doing this, including the merging techniques described in previous lessons. One great way of doing this is through dowsing, either with pendulum, rods, or a bobber. In this lesson, we look at some basic introductory principles which show you how to start using dowsing to practice spatial energy work. 

What is dowsing? 

Dowsing is commonly recognized as a method which use specific tools to sense the presence of money, metals, water, and stones in physical landscapes, i.e., in deserts and beaches. More significantly, it has been used by our ancestors to identify energetic frequencies on land and in physical spaces.  The purpose of this identification was twofold: 1- To identify if a particular piece of land was the right place to build a temple or other sacred site.

2- To determine if there were any energies in one specific space which are out of balance and may need to be shifted.

Most people who know little or nothing about dowsing will often meet it with skepticism. But it is my experience that, even the most skeptical of all will open up when it has been demonstrated adequately. 
I have even experienced situations in workshops where they will grab the rods right out of your hands, frantically keen to give it a go themselves.

How dowsing works
Dowsing is a technique which observes the motion of a pointer (either rods, a forked stick, or a pendulum) in response to unseen influences. The motion perceived is not coming from the article we use but from our physical body. 

At its root is the idea that our body contains an infinite amount of wisdom and can react to specific stimuli by responding with micro-movements which are imperceptible to our senses but will be perceived by the tool used (pendulum, rod or bobber).  


The wisdom of dowsing

It makes sense.

Concepts of time and space, which are “logical” to us mean very little when we consider that everything is energy. When disconnecting from the logical thinking mind, and engaging with our own personal energetic capabilities, we then begin to work in a field which allows us to access and perceive and identify energetic frequencies of the non-physical realm and then work with them to make changes happen in the physical realm. 

Our physical bodies are deeply intelligent energetic structures which have access to an infinite collection of knowledge which is keen to be exploited. When functioning in the non-physical realm, the knowledgeable forces of your being can, therefore, connect to that of other beings, items and locations and will then respond to questions or situations by manifesting spontaneous and natural micro-movements in your body. While you would not be able to perceive these, they will cause the rods to move.

So how can dowsing be used in the process of turning our spaces into temples?

 

Psychic power for physical spaces. 
As a primordial principle of this work, the energetic patterns of our homes must be balanced for us to be in alignment. When that alignment is blocked, we go out of balance and are unable to connect to the energy of Source. Instead, we become attuned to energy patterns which may be disrupted, blocked, or out of balance. This alignment we seek is key to us being our highest self and thus living more fully.

Dowsing rods will show us that the energy frequencies around us need our attention, and by bringing our awareness to these, we create a more developed and supportive field overall. 

It can also be handy in indicating the presence of geopathic stress caused by disrupted land energy, manmade EMFs, or other sources.
In my experience doing this work, no space is entirely balanced unless some seriously advanced energy work has already taken place. 
While this lesson’s focus will mainly be on dowsing as a way of creating a more developed energetic field, attuned to the frequency of Source, you can also learn to dowse as a way of asking the universe answers to some questions and even find out about the presence of spirits in your home. We will touch on this briefly, but it may be something that needs to be perfected through further training or 1-1 mentoring. 

I have seen some people take to dowsing very quickly while others struggling over long periods. For it to go more smoothly, I suggest considering the following golden rules:

1-    Get out of your head. This may be a difficult one, but it's crucial. You need to be as present as possible at the moment of dowsing for it to work.

2-    Get out of the way. 
A dowser must disconnect from his/her intention or how he wishes the outcome to be. We must connect with ourselves as an empty channel, making way for the wisdom to come through. If you feel you are handling a situation where it is hard for you to get out of the way, it may be best for someone else to do the dowsing for you. 

3-    Hydrate This is basic but crucial. To function fully and effectively, our physical bodies need to be sufficiently hydrated. That obviously includes the muscles which are engaged in psychic development.

Make sure you are drinking enough water for the few hours before your dowsing session and consider downing a large glass of water right before beginning.

For now, let’s begin with learning two basic steps which lead us to improve the energetic frequency of physical space and, by default, affect the beings which engage with it. 

BUYING A SET OF RODS.
You can buy rods at most crystal / new age shops, or even online at Amazon. Just try to avoid buying children’s rods. Anything metal or bronze works perfectly. Otherwise you can find resources online which will teach you how to use metal hangers instead.


BASIC QUESTION ANSWERING PROCESS.

Connect to the sound of a gong, a sounding bowl or other mindful instruments and also spend a few minutes connecting to your breath and a crystal nearby if possible. This will simply aim to get you out of your head. Otherwise, you may just simply sit cross-legged, intending to be one with the energy of source.

You can then ask a question on the energetic state of your space. I suggest the following: 
“Are the energetic patterns of this physical space out of harmony?”
“If yes, am I able to help resolve them?” 
It is also good to ask, "Should I?" "Can I?" "May I?"

When you notice the rods crossing like an X, these areas need to be addressed.The best way to unlock these is to simply bring an energy of unconditional love and connection to Source to this area.
Simply stand in the “affected” area, close your eyes, and truly connect to its energy. Try to see where your mind wanders to, what is that area or that specific “block” trying to say to you? If it is a block over your desk, could it be you have been working too hard lately? Is there a project which has been stressing you out?
After a breakup, we tend to find blocks next to or over the bed, where arguments may have happened. We also tend to find blocks in the kitchen and near the front door as these are two places where people tend to rush to get ready for the day.
The rushing energy, as it gathers, will begin to create a force which will affect our lives. (Remember, as our homes represent our beings, any block in them is a block in us. But the good news is, that means we also have the tools we need to address them.)

It is ideal to use somatic practice as a form of remedy.Connect to how that block, or what it represents, feels in your body, in your energetic field and bring yourself to a place of connection to Source by standing in that very intention.

This can be done in many ways.You can simply bring your awareness to your breath and notice it deepen or strengthen, connecting to whatever your experience of source energy is in your body, or you can also make a sound that reminds you of what Source would sound like. If all this seems a bit too abstract to you, you can chant a simple, quick mantra like “Ohm A Um” which is a Tibetan Buddhist blessing followed by sounding a Namaste. Do this with conviction and intention.As you bring energy to this area, the dowsing rods will begin to uncross, and if you have done the work right, they will stay uncrossed as you walk by that area again.

If you can’t get it straight away, don’t feel discouraged. Keep up the practise, and be easy on yourself, remembering that what we are learning is not the most common, and does have the potential of shifting some pretty big things when done right.   Remember, this exercise is a great way to increase energetic sensitivity. The real power to shift the energy patterns of spaces comes from us, reaching high levels of development. Don't get discouraged and don't expect any shortcuts. The word of developing yourself will be the most important in mastering this craft.
